My younger brother is gay. Gay as laughter. Gay as the day is long. One of the finest moments in my life, and one of the greatest compliments anyone has ever paid me, was the day he felt safe to come out to me. He’s in his mid-30s now, but he’ll always be my little brother. And man, I love that kid.

Reality TV. An oxymoron? Yes I do believe it is. Honey BooBoo? Duck Dynasty? Have we become so easily entertained. Hahaha! oh sorry, I'm half watching The Soup. This is really funny. Why do we laugh so hard at stupid? Does it make us feel smarter? I guess that's why the reality tv shows are so popular. So laugh, either they don't know we're laughing at their stupidity, or they don't care, because as long as we're laughing, they're making money.

A Tender Moment

Today as I sit in my favorite place
listening to the rain and feeling it’s coolness, my thoughts turn sad and I wipe away tears. Just like the rain, they drop from my face, sometimes at such unexpected moments. The tears need to pour out, just as the rain has to fall, in order to have sunshine again. Ahhh, there I am. Relaxed, calm and back to this place that is here for me… My beloved front porch swing ;)
