My younger brother is gay. Gay as laughter. Gay as the day is long. One of the finest moments in my life, and one of the greatest compliments anyone has ever paid me, was the day he felt safe to come out to me. He’s in his mid-30s now, but he’ll always be my little brother. And man, I love that kid.
It is more important to feed my spirit and soul, than to feed my stomach. When I Delight in others, my spirit is lifted up! Helping someone else is the quickest way to make myself feel better!
The heart is a divine thing indeed! Be careful who you trust it to. Devastating, Debilitating, almost destroyed. Coming back, standing tall.. Deployed….. Love
Insects, birds, the soft creaking of the porch swing. Blessings to ears that have heard too much. Body at rest, mind seldom does. Damn gnat! I love nature! Some of it bugs me, but Ahh this sanctuary!
Too many questions, don’t want to know the answers…
It’s better this way…. So they say
Today as I sit in my favorite place
listening to the rain and feeling it’s coolness, my thoughts turn sad and I wipe away tears. Just like the rain, they drop from my face, sometimes at such unexpected moments. The tears need to pour out, just as the rain has to fall, in order to have sunshine again. Ahhh, there I am. Relaxed, calm and back to this place that is here for me… My beloved front porch swing
Playing with my two dogs
Sitting in my front porch swing
Lighting up a cigar
Drinking down a cold one
Wishing we were on the beach
EnJoying this Texas evening breeze…
